What is the best way to send you large files such as photos, music/audio, videos, newsletters, Flash files, etcetera?
We recommend the free file upload services CuteSendIt.com or
YouSendIt.com.
They make it easy to upload large files and not clog your recipient's email inbox.
A good rule of thumb is to use an upload service if the file is much larger than 1 megabyte in size, or if you have
multiple files that exceed a few megabytes in total.
Should I send each file separately?
No. Ideally you would compress all the files in a compressed zip archive file that is less than 100 megabytes in size.
Currently 100 megabytes is the limit of the free upload services. Note, they have very reasonable paid options that
will allow you to upload much larger files and keep them there for a longer time period.
For example, if you are sending us pictures, and if each photograph is about 1 megabyte in size, then you should be able
to zip more than 100 and still be well within the 100 megabyte limit.
What about video files?
Video files may be larger than 100 megabytes.
Please contact us specifically about large video files. We currently have a 500 megabyte file upload
account, and may upgrade that to a higher limit depending on the project.
What format and size should the video be in?
See FAQ - Video Submissions.
